FAQ

Good to know

What's in the starter bundle?
Three full music packs — Evince, Emotional Ambiances and Moods — the Creator's Essential SFXs library, and the Duende Sounds desktop app. Together that's hundreds of finished tracks, stems and sound effects, for one price you pay once.
Are these finished tracks, or do I have to build them myself?
Both. Every pack includes ready-to-use full-mix tracks (and shorter edits) you can drop straight into your timeline. The same tracks also come split into stems, layers and moment sounds — so when you want something custom, you can mix and match the pieces, even across all three packs.
What's the difference between a full mix, a stem and a layer?
The full mix is the finished track. Stems and layers are the building blocks behind it — the low end, mids, highs, melodies and moment sounds — delivered as separate files so you can rebuild the track to fit your scene.
Do I need the app to use the music?
No. Everything is standard WAV and MP3, so you can drag the files straight into Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, CapCut or any other NLE. The app is completely optional.
Then what does the desktop app do?
It makes the whole library faster to work with: browse, preview and search everything by mood, key and tempo, then drag tracks and stems straight into your edit. It also adds AI tools — sound-effect generation, AI voiceover, voice isolation and instant BPM/key detection. Runs on Windows and macOS.
What does the licence cover?
A one-time purchase gives you a lifetime, worldwide licence for commercial and personal projects — films, ads, client and brand work, YouTube and social (including monetised channels), Twitch and streaming platforms, podcasts, games, apps, presentations, and contest or festival entries. Once it's bought, it's cleared for everything you ship, with no extra per-project fees.
Is there anything I can't do?
Use the music in your projects as much as you like. You just can't resell or redistribute the raw audio files on their own, or claim the music itself as your own composition — Duende Sounds writes and owns the tracks; your licence is to use them, customised however you need.
Will it trigger copyright claims on YouTube?
Because our music is protected, an automated Content ID match can occasionally appear on an upload. As a licensed customer you're fully cleared to use it — just reach out with your channel and the video and we'll release the claim for you.
Is it really one-time? Any subscription?
One-time, yours to keep — no subscription. You pay once and keep everything, including future updates to the packs you own. The only optional cost is AI credits for the app's AI tools ($5 for 10,000 credits), topped up whenever you need them.
How do I get everything after I buy?
Instant download right after checkout, and it all unlocks automatically in the app when you sign in with your account.
